Understanding adjuvants

What is an adjuvant ?

Definitions

Adjuvants (latin adjuvare = to help) are not pesticides.

They improve pesticide “impact” on the target, thereby improving their performances.

They can reduce
negative effects such as
drift and run off.

They improve the efficiency of an agrochemical application and can help reduce environmental impact and improve user and consumer respect.
Adjuvants must often be registered by the appropriate Government body e.g. The Ministry of Agriculture. These registrations are only granted at the end of favourable biological efficacy trials and strict examination of toxicology data.
