Properties
Minimising Bounce and Shatter
Spraying applications which lead to large spray droplets, can often lead to off-target deposition.
The bounce and shatter adjuvant ensures that :
- more drops reach and stay at the plant surface.
Penetrant
Many agrochemicals e.g. systemic products must penetrate into the plant in order to function.
A penetrant adjuvant acts :
- on the cuticle of the leaf by fusion or swelling of the waxy cuticle.
It facilitates a rapid penetration of the most important quantity of product into the plant.
Retention
A retention adjuvant keeps the spray droplets on the leaf after impact moment.
The retention effect occurs :
- in one thousanth second
- the rheological properties of the adjuvant.
The quantity of product retained varies according to the leaf surface.
Spraying quality
A spraying quality adjuvant changes the distribution of droplet sizes at the spray nozzle so that the smallest and biggest ones (large size drops) are minimised.
These adjuvants result in :
- spraying pattern which is optimized and more regular.
